Howdy, I go by my nickname, Skunk, a name that no doubt one would ever forget or confuse with anybody else. I am the daughter of the well known cutting horse trainer in the Northwest, Buster Smith, who owned and trained the hall of fame AQHA Bueno Chex, King Fritz, The Maestro and many others. I have been training and working with cutting horses along side of my father for over 20 years. I was born and raised around horses. I started riding by the time I could walk and was cutting at age 6.... (read more) In 1992 I took a brief break to raise my family and moved to California. Since returning home to Washington in 2002, I have been living out my childhood dream and following in my Dad's well imprinted foundation. I am in Lewis County mins off I-5 exit 68. The next best thing to living the dream is doing it with my better half "Darby", we work together training and teaching. It is so enjoyable for me to be with this wonderful man that loves what we do as much as I do, he has years of experience with raising cattle and working horses that is such an asset to our business. Darby has such a special way with animals it's beautiful to watch him work them. While your horse is in our care, our philosophy is to make a complete horse. We want a horse that is well mannered and respectful, happy and that enjoys his/her job. Another part of this philosophy is a "Legend Cowboy's Philosophy" its better to under-do then over-do. It's Dad's version of the other Legend Buster Welch "Get the Most by Doing the Least"..... It is the best part of our job, that's why the horses keep trying for us and wanting to please us... You want them to love what you ask them to do, makes me just love what I do ~Skunk
