Indiana State Horseshoeing Academy classroom and shop are efficiently laid out under one roof so that all instruction is Centralized. While working on Horses, students have ready access to reference materials and anatomical specimens.

In order to provide students with a realistic entry into the profession, some work is done at Off Site Equine Facilities. ISHA maintains 1 complementary outfitted mobile farrier unit and 1 transport unit for those trips.
From his active duty service in the United States Marine Corps and his work as a Nationally recognized farrier, Ryan has traveled extensively, but East Central Indiana provides a solid base for this family oriented farrier. A strong believer in family values and family business, Ryan, his wife Melissa, and their 3 Children - - Mackenzie, Abigayle and Dallas - - reside on the school property.
Shoeing since 1996, Ryan holds the Highest Level of Certification in the American Farrier's Association (AFA) and serves as an Approved Tester in the AFA's Certification Program. As owner of Hot Iron Forge, Inc, a multi-farrier practice based in the Mid-West, Ryan shoes some of the top horses in the United States and serves as the Official Farrier for numerouse prestigious events. In 2010, he served as 1 of the AFA Official Farriers for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.
Ryan believes in a traditional approach to Farriery, which includes a solid grounding in Forge Work. Constantly honing his skills, Ryan actively competes in Forging Competitions and is a 5-Time Competitor at the National Forging and Horseshoeing Championships. In 2010, Ryan became the 2nd person to attain the AFA's Specialty Forging Endorsement.
In addition to serving as the CEO and Director of Education at Indiana State Horseshoeing Academy, Ryan serves on the Board of Directors of the American Farrier's Association and also serves as the Certification Chair for the Indiana Farrier's Association.
