The story of Foxhall Farm began as one family s dream of creating a world-class equestrian retreat along the banks of the Chattahoochee came to life in the 1980s. Soliciting input from highly respected equestrian champions and experts including Captain Mark Phillips (chief dequipe of the U.S. Eventing Equestrian Team and two-time Olympic medalist), the Richards family spent more than $23 million on improvements including Foxhalls distinctive stone stables, event arenas, polo fields, 15+ miles of trails, and 16 lakes.... After acquiring the property in 2005, the Merrill Trust Group began a collaborative process with Douglas County and Atlanta Regional Commission officials to insure that their vision for Foxhall Resort & Sporting Club shared common values with local government; meaningfully enhanced the areas economic potential; and embraced important development concepts and priorities. As a result, Foxhall received what is believed to be the largest resort zoning approval in the history of Metropolitan Atlanta in May 2009. The vote by Douglas County commissioners was unanimous, as was their approval last November of the preliminary plat filing for Foxhall’s first 49 home sites.

Today the Merrill Trust Group is actively transforming Foxhall into the worlds first urban sporting club while respectfully embracing the farms rich equestrian history, enhancing its recreational amenities and preserving its spectacular natural beauty.
