Fallen Horses Inc.

Fallen Horses, Inc. is an all-volunteer, nonprofit equine rescue and sanctuary. All of the daily care, rehabilitation, re-training and re-homing of each horse is done solely by volunteers and our Board of Directors. We are passionate about the welfare of our horses, for the lifetime of each horse. Partnered with several County Departments, including Animal Control, we accept abused, neglected or abandoned horses into our program. Each horses health, soundness and temperament is evaluated and a rehabilitation program is tailored to each horses needs to maximize their recovery.... (read more) Once each horse has been appropriately rehabilitated our staff assesses them on the ground and under saddle to determine suitability for adoption. We also partner with County Probation and Welfare Offices in need of placement for minor offenders or people in Welfare to Work Programs. Each person becomes part of our volunteer staff and they receive training in proper care, feeding, and maintenance of horses, including riding lessons for those who have an interest in getting more involved.
