Hi there! My name is Sara. I have been riding my entire life and training for the last 5 years, and spent two of those years working at an equine rescue rehabbing abuse and neglect cases. I come from a traditional training background, however when working at the rescue I started training with clicker training and positive reinforcement. I have started several horses under saddle using clicker training, as well as taught uncatchable horses to self halter, and rehabbed aggressive horses into happy and quiet partners. Clicker training isn't just for fun tricks -- it can be used for anything!
If you are interested in learning about clicker training, or have been using it already and are looking for in person lessons, I can help! If you are too far for me to drive to I also offer phone consultations and online video lessons.
I have also successfully helped riders improve their skills in showmanship, horsemanship, equitation, and trail, and have personally shown these classes successfully most of my life. I've also taught 4H clinics and worked with many beginners, even down to age 4.
My focus is not on training your horse for you, but rather teaching you how to be your horses trainer. I am able to help start horses under saddle and put the first few months of riding on, but require the owner to be an active participant in their horses learning experience so that they may successfully take over the training.
