We specialize in buying and training young draft cross horses. Each horse is initially started on the ground in a round pen, learning the basics of lunging, backing up, and turning on the forehand and hindquarters. All of this is taught with the main focus on gaining the horses respect. We also desensitize each horse to tarps and other objects, as well as farm machinery, lawn mowers, and vehicles. Once the groud work phase is completed, their under saddle training begins with introductory/training level dressage.... (read more) It is important to have a well balanced, collected and properly muscled horse before asking them to go further in a particular discipline. Following this, horses are asked to do gymnastic excersises over small verticles and cross rails. If a horse shows jumping potential they are asked to jump further. All horses are also trail ridden on a regular basis and asked to cross creeks or any other obstacles along the way. It is very important to have a well rounded horse. When a horse is ready to move on to another home, we advertise to find the perfect buyer and place for each horse.
