I began in Houston, Texas a few years ago, participating in bull ridings and roping events. My grandfather told me as a boy I developed a natural gifted talent with horses. I trained my first horse at age eleven and has been hooked every since. My family has been in the horse business for 40 years.
I train horses with the thought that I need to be smarter than the horse not stronger. I also use a method called C.P.R or confidence, patients, and , respect .There is one more method that a like to use as well called approach and retreat ,basically this means is when introducing new objects walk up show it to them and then retreat and repeat until horse stands and except the object. I really like to give a horse a since of achievement like we are completing a certain task and once that task is complete then we rest. I like to use a few tools use when I am training such as logs, tires, tarps. I use these items to desensitize, and build the horse’s confidence as well as giving the horse something to think of like a job. I have seven steps in my program that guarantee’s my success.

I treat every horse as an individual. Every horse has different talents and capabilities. Tremendous differences in each horse can be attributed to learned behavior and breeding. I recognize every horse is at a different level in his or her mental, emotional, and physical maturity. Considering all these things, the training will be tailored to each horse. It should also be known that the speed of progression and results will vary with each horse. I want every horse in a “learning frame of mind” through training and riding process. I believe this will lead to improved and lasting results. I strive to develop a multidimensional horse that will able to handle different situations and jobs.
