Acres of Learning is a small farm nestled on the outskirts of a small town in Warrenton,NC. We are a 45 min commute to Raleigh and conveniently accessible to Durham and surrouning areas via Interstates 85 and 95. We are a small family owned and operated Farm/Learning Center.

We enjoy riding our horses and taking in nature on our miles of beautiful trails.Our farm consits of my husband,myself,our 11 year old son and two daughters that love to come and help out.... (read more) We also share our farm with two amazing trail horses,3 dogs in which one is our farm mascot,and one loyal barn kitty.

Our background includes 40+ years barrel racing,training of barrel horses.We have trained for local barns and have worked closely with other trainers in numerous disciplines in developing certian skills for ourselves. We have participated in hands on clinics and training courses to include horse physcology,nutrition,proper saddle fitting,farrier,the care of the aged horse specialising in nutrition,arthritis,pain managment,back massages,and experience with the blind.

We have participated and successfully rescued,rehabilitated and turned back into the working field the starved,abused,neglected,ring sour,aged and problem horses some to go on to the show ring to include huntseat,saddleseat,hunterjumper and western pleasure circuits.

Our goal and passion is to make each horse as safe,wonderful and trail savvy as possible to enable the rider as well as the horse to have wonderful trail experiences and memories that we ourselves have been able to enjoy over the years.Keeping God First... then family..what else can compare.

Services Offered

Training: We Specialize in training your horse to become a reliable,trail savvy horse.Training consists of almost daily trail rides,exposure crossing bridges,water,ditches,road traffic,riding with saddle bags,horn bags and your normal gear needed for an all day ride;all with the loving care of a home environment,We only accept 1 horse at a time to ensure each horse gets all the attention he or she deserves during training.Grooming,tying,ground work also included to help your horse become a "Good Citizen" while being handled.Trainer has 40 Plus years riding/training expertise including training of barrel horses and barrel racing for numerous years.
Green horses welcomed but must be saddle broke and rideable (no breaking under saddle).Your horse will have his own stall and lot of the pasture.Also if farrier service is needed while with us we can provide that as well at a very low cost.Training fees are $400 a month plus you provide feed and hay.If you leave your horse for 90 consecutive days of training we will give 7 days refresher at a later date at no charge to help your guy stay trail savvy.
