2007 Brenderup Baron TC. The “TC” indicates that this trailer has Brenderup’s patented InstaTack dressing room. The Baron series is for 2 horses to 18 hands and what’s
particularly impressive about the Baron TC is that it’s a dressing room trailer with a loaded tongue weight of only 250 lbs. For comparison, the typical dressing room trailer has a loaded tongue weight in the 600-900 lb. range. You don’t need a truck to tow a Brenderup!... (read more) Brenderup trailers have been in production since the early 1950s. The Baron is constructed of durable, low-maintenance materials and loaded with safety and convenience features. The interior is bright & inviting. There’s a large fixed window at the front and a 5-way opening window near each horse’s head for light and ventilation. You can run the trailer with the rear storm panel up or down, and in the open position, there’s even more light and ventilation. The roof is cool white fiberglass and the walls are Solid Phenolic Core (SPC) panels. The walls are about ½” thick, which contributes to quietness and low heat transmission. The chassis is of tough & durable galvanized steel. The chest bar and butt bars offer 3 height adjustments each. In addition, as you lower a butt bar, it reduces the stall length. When the horse is shorter in height, it’s likely shorter in length as well. The butt bars have quick-action latches that are easy to use, yet fit snugly, contributing further to the quietness of the interior. During travel, the hinged tack compartment lid is secured in the down position. (That is, it’s horizontal, just below the level of the front window.) When you reach your destination, pivot the tack lid to the vertical position and you have a standing-height dressing room. The InstaTack dressing room contains two saddle racks, bridle hooks, and a blanket bar. For convenient access, there’s a door on each side of the dressing room. If the ramp on the Baron looks tall, that’s because it is. Brenderup’s standard ramp is 5’ tall rather than the more common 4 feet. The tall ramp produces a comfortable incline for loading and unloading and the ramp mat has convenient toeholds for traction. Brenderup’s ramp design has two assist struts which make it easy to lift. As with other Brenderup models, there are smooth-riding torsion axles with shock absorbers and Inertia brakes. With Inertia brakes, you don’t need a brake controller in the tow vehicle. As you apply the brakes in the tow vehicle, Inertia brakes apply braking force automatically in proportion to the load in the trailer.
