Affordable, classic, easy-tow Brenderup. Original owner. Pulled two horses (15.2 and 16.2H) with a Ford Taurus and small SUV for years. Horses loved it. Designed for up to two 16H horses. My two fit well although one was 16.2. No tack room means extra roomy front manger area.
CONDITION: Galvanized steel structure, surge breaks, bumper connection, loading ramp, floor, interior structure, windows, fiberglass roof, and heavy-duty floor mats – basically all the important structures – are in safe, stable, working condition.... (read more)
The 9-ply white laminate material on front and lower part of sides clearly shows wear - soft/torn with paint peeling in some locations (highlighted in pictures). Structural stability remains good (still in use) but composite material should ultimately be patched, painted, or replaced in some spots, which could be done by a carpenter or handyman – doesn’t need a trailer expert. This white composite material is usually the only component that shows any age on Brenderups, and is typically addressed in this manner. They are an amazing design. Pictures were taken to clearly show flaws.
Brake/blinker lights work. Interior light is a tad glitchy and cover is missing from 1 of 3 upper rear lights (see photo).
No accidents or other mechanical mishaps.
BENEFITS OF BRENDERUP UNIQUE DESIGN: Easy pulling by any vehicle designed for tongue weight of 200 lbs (often written in manuals as “max trailer weight 2000 lbs”). Heavy-duty loading ramp is super light to lift, due to counterbalancing. Roomy interior allows horses to spread feet, drop heads, and balance comfortably. SUPER EASY to hitch, and hums along with no dragging, drifting, or need for sway bars or installation of trailer brakes. Soft airy ride. Quiet inside due to minimal metal (just galvanized frame), soft sides, and swooped roof / sloped rear shape that prevents vacuum-sway when passing large vehicles. Designed for NORMAL car tires, super low cost. Butt bars are highly adjustable (both height and length). Fiberglass roof reduces noise and temperature, promotes LOW center of gravity, protects heads. Brenderup 5-way adjustable window design allow pop-up (open) in any direction – front, back, up, down. Spare tire and tire-change iron included. Total empty weight 1550 lbs, GVWR 4400, but for tow vehicle this trailer fully loaded mimics a 2000 lb trailer due to design and balance.
I love and trust this trailer, it was the first trailer I ever towed and to this day has remained the EASIEST trailer I’ve ever towed, attached, or parked. We feel it has remained safe due to structural integrity of frame, floor, axles, etc. but we don’t have time to patch and paint the flaws in laminate sides to sell at full value, so price is reflective of that.
