Trail rides are a unique and fantastic experience at Bailey’s Walking After Midnight Farm. We have several Quiet and Gentle Tennessee Walking Horses, for our trail rides. (People with bad backs will love our comfy horses. Think “NO BOUNCING”.)

We ride to your confidence level and want you to feel safe and have control of your horse. Your safety and the horse’s safety are 1st and foremost. We create a memorable experience with riding tips (as needed), while we meander through historic woods and fields, splash through Sleepy Creek, and cruise back country roads.... (read more) With your appointment you get fitted for your helmet and stirrups so that your ride is safe and comfortable.

We can also provide an offsite trail ride for 2 riders. There are several gorgeous State Parks, and Cival War Battlefields within an hour or 2 from our farm. We can trailer horses to a park and enjoy several hours on horse back, and we'll pack a brown paper bag lunch. Call Melissa for pricing as that depends on how far away the ride is.

We can accommodate groups of 1 – 3 people here at our Cross Junction, Va farm. When you call Melissa she will make sure we have the right horse for you and your guest(s). Riders with and without experience will have the time of their life on our gentle and slightly spoiled trail horses. You are welcome to help groom your horse after the ride and feed carrots.

Bailey's Walking-After-Midnight Farm

Bailey’s Walking-After-Midnight Farm (formerly Bailey's Black Widow Farm LLC), is a small, family run business, focusing on The Love of Horses and how best we can help those that want to learn about caring and riding for horses. Located at the top of the state of Virginia, north of Winchester, Va and south of Berkeley Springs, WV, ON the state line but IN Va. We provide a caring and custom experience, probably like none other, where riding lessons can be for mature riders, (or kids), and mostly on our gaited horses.... (read more) Our lessons are geared towards equitation, on trails too, stressing confidence building, balance and natural horsemanship. After the student gains confidence, trail riding can become part of our lesson experience. Lessons are typically one on one. This is custom and geared towards you and your expectations. We also board horses for $350 ea month pasture board. Call Melissa to learn about stall board options. Farm has 48 acres with trails, round pen, barn big enough to ride in when weather is bad, outdoor riding arena, wash stall, vet and farrier care.
