The Harrison Sisters have had 15 years of full time Endurance racing with their horses, that ultimately ended up on a ranch in north east Texas. For the last 3 years, we have offered to train and teach people of all ages, how to ride a horse in the sport of Endurance across country, anywhere in North America.
We have had clients that came to us with their own horse and we got to work, training and conditioning with them right away. We have also had clients come, that had no riding experience, no horse of their own and we took great pleasure in finding them the right partner, teaching them to ride and ultimately getting them to their first endurance competition.... The beginning of all of this is a dream to be fulfilled in the sport that will require some endurance commitments. Someone who has a true partner in a horse, can be at their first event after 3 months of training and conditioning, building physical fitness on both the horse and rider. On the other hand, should you have no horse & riding background, we could be looking at one year of preparations to get you equipped with the skill, knowledge and fitness, for which it will require to compete in your first event.
Whether you’re 70 years old or 12 years old, we have been successful getting each client to their first competitions. It does not matter where you are located, we can accommodate you at our ranch.
Should you need, we can prepare your horse and train it for you so that they are safe and fit enough to race. We also offer the ability to take your horse through its first competition on your behalf, which will give them a positive experience with a skilled rider. Your fitness level, preparing you to do your first 25 mile event, will require a conversation between yourself and us, in order to determine how much time your are able to commit to getting yourself ready with some degree of ride toughness.
We have over 35 horses on our ranch, some of which are retired endurance horses, that know their job and are completely safe. The majority of the new riders that come for training start on one of these horses, in order to get them to a place where they can train with their own horses. We can get you going in the sport, but ultimately you’re going to have to invest in a horse of your own, and we can help you with finding the right horse for you.
Likewise, we have several trailers with living quarters and trucks to get you going to events, but like the horse, you will be wanting to invest in a truck and trailer in order to continue attending endurance events. We too can help you in this endeavor.
For our family, this is our life and sharing it with people that have a dream, how to fulfill that, is what we truly enjoy. So, give us a call wherever you are, and let’s see if we can make it work.
