Barn Assistant - Groom - Horse Rehab Intern - Northern Virginia

Low-Key 40 Acre, 20 Horse, Training and Equine Rehab Barn needs a trustworthy, competent horse-person as a barn assistant and groom. You’ll have the opportunity to learn/assist with horse rehab 1-on-1 with the owner and highly-respected practitioner of 30+ Years experience.

She must have real experience working with horses and have a true passion for it.... (read more) This cannot be “just a job” for her. It encompasses all the normal duties in a barn.....feeding, watering, turnouts, blanketing, and all the rest without being micro-managed. A self-starter with energy will be a good fit.

Someone looking for a quiet, rewarding life with horses would also be a great fit.

It’s a full-time 6 Days a Week position, with a private split-level fully furnished barn apartment with AC/Heat/WiFi. While not a total true riding position, substantial riding can be included, so she must be in-shape and a capable rider. Owner is an FEI-Level trainer and former competitor.

Sorry, no smoking, and no pets as we have two farm dogs of our own.
