We proudly introduce Buddy! A beautiful, grade black tobiano crossbred gelding. Buddy is 7 years old and stands a sturdy 14 hh.... (read more) He’s one of the coolest little crossbreds on the market! His stunning looks and friendly personality are sure to grab your attention, and on top of that, he’s an absolute blast to ride. Buddy is content to walk, trot, and lope when asked. He has been trail-ridden extensively and knows his way around the mountains. He crosses water, downed trees, and ditches with ease, navigating trails while staying sure-footed. Whether you’re taking your time to enjoy the scenery or picking up the pace, Buddy is a pleasure to ride. He has a fancy jog that is smooth and collected, and when asked, he moves into a nice, easy lope. Even though I frequently ride gaited horses, I enjoy Buddy so much that I often choose him over my others. He is reliable, willing, and always up for whatever I throw at him. We’ve taken him through town, ridden him through the KFC drive-thru, and even walked him inside Tractor Supply to grab some corn. He handles all of our shenanigans with ease! He’s been ridden bareback, played with the big ball, and taken through the arena for jogging, loping circles, and even trotting poles. While we primarily use him as a trail horse and for fun, I believe he would make a fantastic 4-H show pony or even a sharp driving horse if someone wanted to further his career. Buddy has excellent ground manners! He’s easy to catch, groom, tack up, and trailer. He stands calmly for mounting and dismounting, ties well, and is good for both the vet and farrier. He’s not a deadhead, but he’s very controllable and fun to ride. He is trustworthy and has never offered to kick, buck, bite, or rear. Before I acquired Buddy earlier this year, he was a young girl’s riding partner for much of his life, where he was trail-ridden and shown in fun shows. He’s a convenient size for many riders yet built thick enough to carry most anyone. An easy keeper, Buddy requires little maintenance and is easy to care for. He has a beautiful coat pattern, a thick mane and tail, solid hooves, and strong bone structure. While his front hooves are slightly toed in, I believe they will continue to improve with regular farrier visits. Buddy is in great shape and ready to hit the trails! He is up to date on farrier work, deworming, Coggins, vaccinations, and just had a health exam completed by a veterinarian. He is truly a nice little horse that someone will be thrilled to own! His video is a must-watch! I strongly encourage anyone interested to come meet Buddy in person. Feel free to call or text me with any questions.
