(read more) Frost is a safe, reliable, laid back boy, who loves attention, loves people, and is very kind. He has an in your pocket personality and is always just happy to be involved! Here is a young horse, with lots to offer!
In the barn, Frost is gentle to work around. He is safe with kids, beginners, dogs, you name it. He will stand around on the cross ties all day long to be loved on, groomed, braided, tacked, bathed, etc. He has excellent ground manners, and he is careful with children. He can live in, or out, and has no bad habits. Frost lives out with a mixed herd, causes no drama, and he is the first one to walk up to you in the pasture.
Do you want to relax and enjoy your trail ride? Well, so does Frost! He is an awesome trail partner, who likes to soak up the scenery and go on adventures. He is willing, brave, and super laid back on the trails. Frost will lead, follow, go out alone and in groups. He crosses water, logs, rocks, and other trail obstacles. Lope him across a wide open field on a loose rein, he will take care of you. He trail rides on the buckle and doesn’t have to be caught up with the horse in front him, he is very independent, especially for a horse his age. Frost has been my jump on bareback and go for a stroll guy, and all of the neighborhood kids love to come out and pet him. He is safe with traffic, bikes, dogs, wildlife, etc. This boy makes every trail ride enjoyable! With his quiet demeanor, I could see frost being a good camping partner, husband horse, fox hunter, guest horse and more!! He loads and trailers like a dream, with or without company.
In the ring, Frost will walk, trot, canter, and knows his leads. This boy has not been pushed, he has been started slowly and correctly in the arena. He has been introduced to collection, neck reining, stopping and pivoting, all at a slow pace. He is quiet, and easy going in the ring. His gaits are comfortable and his transitions are smooth. Frost moves off of leg, and listens well to voice commands too! I have also put a beginner child on him, and he tiptoed around as gentle as could be.
Frost rides western, english, and bareback. He is a very intelligent boy, and learns very fast. He has also been introduced to cows, and really enjoys trailing them, chasing them, etc!!!! With Frost’s western side, he has all of the potential to do ranch trail, western dressage, reining, trail obstacle, penning, sorting, roping and more.
I have popped him over a handful of cross rails, he has not jumped much due to his age, but he has proven to be honest and straight forward over fences. Frost could very easily dabble in dressage, hunter under saddle, jumping, and look good while doing it! This young boy has the potential to head in every direction.
Frost has proven to be a very reliable horse. He is not a horse that needs to be in a routine or lunged. He can sit, tack up and go with no silly business. Over the winter I let him sit for weeks when the weather got really bad, then I jumped right on him and he went right back to work like he hadn’t missed a day. He is amateur friendly, and a safe boy.
Frost is an easy keeper, with no maintenance, and can go barefoot or wear shoes. He is good for the vet and farrier. He has no health or soundness issues. Simple diet, and he asks for nothing. This boy is one happy horse, his ears are always forward and he is always ready for the next adventure. Frost has his whole life ahead of him, and if he is this well mannered and quiet as a youngster, he is only ever going to get better!!! He is an absolute gem to have around.
Here is an all around gelding, currently set up to head in absolutely any direction. I have really enjoyed having Frost around, riding him, working with him, and everyone in the barn loves him. I had plans on keeping Frost around as my main riding horse until my baby is ready to start, but with life plans changing, it’s only fair to Frost, to find his forever home. He is very deserving of a loving partner to explore and learn with!
