Only reason for offering this guy up is because we got a chance to get back a gelding we used to own but don’t have the funds!! So here ya go!

HACKNEY PONY
About 12 years old, gelding, 12.1 hands tall, not for beginners but not gonna kill anybody - beginners can ride him in the round pen just not in the open. He moves on out - fast walker. The good:
- trail blazing machine - swamp, fallen trees, dirt roads..he dont care
- rides alone and with others
- easy to catch
- lunges
- loads, ties, good for farrier
- rides double
- sound
- barefoot; doesnt give on rocks
- neck reins; knows some leg cues; backs
- no kick or bite
- experienced kids and small adults will have a blast with him! We certainly have been the month we’ve had him!

The bad:
- he will most likely try you the first few times you ride him - might rear, go sideways, go backwards… stay with him and keep asking and he’ll eventually give up; then after a few days, he’s good to go.
- he has been a cribber in the past…he did not do it with last owner nor with us, but definitely used to at some point in the past due to the way his front/top teeth look.
- one front hoof looks rough but its nothing serious, just needs regular trims for a little while till the split grows out
- if you let him get nose to nose with another horse, he might start pawing or kicking at it.

So he definitely has some quirks but hes a really fun pony for those that know what they’re doing!!

I also give riding lessons, and take in outside horses for training and problem solving. And I raise Nigerian Dwarf goats and I am starting to raise milk goats.
