This is Maverick and he is an 8-year-old beautiful long haired sweet in your pocket love bug! He stands about 14 hands, is extremely gentle and so enjoyable to ride, he has been ridden extensively on trails, to town by himself many times, rides out alone or great with other horses, rides quiet beside the highway and knows ranching too! He is easy to catch, you can rope off of him, open and close gates, he knows WHOA and will stop EXACTLY when he's told.... (read more) He will get up and move when you ask him to and as you'll see in his attached youtube video a short clip toward the end where he is loping and he looks like a rocking horse and his rider isn't moving an inch!
If you drop the reigns his natural speed is a steady walk and he doesn't get carried away unless you ask him to pick up the pace then he does as he is asked. He has worked in cattle feed lots, ridden by all types of riders, from beginners to experienced! He loads in any type of trailer, backs out of the trailer, stands tied, stands to mount, for fly spray and is an all-around beautiful and very enjoyable boy to ride! He has been in multiple parades, ridden a lot around cattle, ridden on ranches checking fences, gathering up cattle, overnight trail rides, rides out quiet alone and isn't buddy or herd sour. Maverick is half Missouri fox trotter and half quarter horse; he has the SMOOTHEST gaits (trot) that doesn’t jar you to death and a super nice soft lope! I grew up on gaited horses and even ran barrels and poles on mine (not professionally) and we were always in the top 3 in our class! As I grew up, I had quarter horses also, but now as an adult I absolutely LOVE my quarter horse gaited crosses! They are built like the quarter horses but have the smoothness of a gaited horse and as I have gotten older and have ahces and old injuries I don't hurt as much after riding a gaited horses vs a straight QH.

I was born into riding but only rode horses that family members had until my parents bought me my very first horse when I was 8 years old. That is when my horse story really began. I was given the nickname “Ellie Mae” when I was very young due to my deep love for all God’s critters the cute and furry to the creepy crawly one’s, but most of all for horses!... (read more) I have had countless injuries and hospital visits caused from the many different horses I had growing up that were marketed or portrayed to be “Kid Safe" "Bombproof" “Grandma Safe” If we get to meet, you’ll see at least a few of the scars I ended up with from those “Safe” horses because they are on my face……. I have many more scars and have broken or fractured every limb at least once, broken ribs, dislocations, concussions, tailbone broken multiple times, back and neck injuries that are still with me and cause me a lot of pain to this day. Starting out my parents did the best they knew to do and believed people when they claimed the horses were safe for me, we didn’t have a lot of money and they didn’t have the years of experience needed to know the difference or what to look for that truly makes a good “Safe Family Horse” My goal is ALWAYS to match the right horse or horses with the right level of rider, to ensure the horses have good forever homes and my buyers are extremely happy and are as equipped as possible with everything they and their horse needs for their forever success and happiness with their new family! I sell multiple horses to families that I pair or fit together who ride well together, get along with each other etc. I also sale saddles and the tack you’ll need that will properly fit you and your horse, if you don’t have it so you are 100% ready to go ride once you get them home! If you have found a horse for sale with someone else that you like but are unsure if it will actually be a good match for you, I will personally travel to look at and ride the horse for you after getting to know you and will let you know if it will be a good match. I want to see people enjoy good horses and if I can help prevent a bad situation by providing advice, I am happy to help! Just because someone has been riding all their life or has been selling horses, has a horse for sale they have had for a while doesn’t technically qualify them to know if that horse is truly a beginner safe or family safe type horse. As previously mentioned, it takes years to be able to identify things and can be extremely dangerous to purchase from someone who isn’t a trained professional in the specific type of horse you are looking for! It is especially important that you are experienced and know what to look for or that you purchase from someone experienced, reputable and honest because one bad horse could cost you more than you ever want to imagine. Be cautious in your search and please do not hesitate to call or text me if there is anything I can help you with. EVEN, if that means that you don’t purchase a horse from me! I mean that genuinely! Most of my customers are complete beginners and the majority are over the age of 65 and quite a few have even become close friends, a few of them even insist on being bonus grandparents to my young children, which I LOVE! It breaks my heart to hear the stories of those who have been deceived like me and my family who ended up hurt or taken advantage of!
