Forest is an absolutely GORGEOUS young dun gelding!!! He is as stout as he is tall, he is only 14.2, but has massive bone and body, to be able to carry any size rider very comfortably and fill out the longest of legs. He is a HUGE horse – but he is still super easy to step on and throw your saddle on at only 14.... (read more) 2 Hands. He is classic, old-school cowboy cool, they don’t make many of them like this anymore! He is only 5 years old and he has his entire life in front of him, for his next family or rider to enjoy him for a very long time. He has had a real job out in West Texas working the ranch and in the feed lots, that’s why he’s so broke!!! He has also been lightly started in the roping pen. He is an absolute pet dog and he would love to end up in a family/ pet / companion type of home. He loves attention… he’s the one you can put with a group of awful to catch horses… and he’ll help you catch the other horses! He has an adorable personality and he seeks being with people and having a job. He was started right with an excellent solid foundation, to be ready to go on from here and smoothly add any sort of finish and polish to – he is ready right now to go season for any particular job that you have for him. He is great riding out alone and has been many miles alone. He is very confident and eager leaving the barn, leaving the trailer, or leaving a group of horses – he could care less, he enjoys going somewhere, and has very little horsiness to him. He is absolutely great in town, very friendly and curious – he seems to really enjoy the new sites and scenes. He has a great walk, trot, lope, stop, and turn-around – he works a gate like a pro, and does it all looking fancy and relaxed, with his head level and on a loose rein. We love this guy, and we sure wish we could consistently find 25 geldings like this every single month – our job would sure be super-duper easy! Forest is barefoot and has absolutely exceptionally excellent feet, he is one of the very few horses we get in who doesn’t need front shoes even on our hard rocky ground and doing lots of work on the pavement! His teeth were just done by our equine dentist last month, his feet were just trimmed this week, and he also had his sheath cleaned, his ears preemptively treated for ticks, and was dewormed at that time. He is in great shape, just a hair on the fat side, but is plenty fit enough to go right to work. He is an easy keeper and in good health.
