Looking for a beautiful black 16 hand Canadian gelding with perfect conformation? Meet Canadream Kelbeck D-Best, aka Hugo, a 8-year-old Canadian gelding. Hugo is 100% sound, solid bare feet who epitomizes the Canadian conformation and is the mirror imagine of his father. Hugo has done endless local English shows pinning blue almost every class for walk/trot/obstacles and agility. Tons of miles on trails, alone or in a group, loves cow sorting/penning and would much rather be out of the ring.... (read more) Experience riding on roads, loads and trailers perfectly. Hugo was imported to Duxbury, Ma USA in 2021 and had a 6+ month dedicated in hand training followed by on going in hand and under saddle training. Why is Hugo priced at only $8,500 USD? Hugo needs an ultra-confident rider, which I am not. Hugo also does better in a large paddock with other horses and he is always the leader of the herd. My small backyard facility does not offer a large area to roam nor other horses for company (he does play with the chickens though!). Hugo likes games, challenges and needs someone who knows how to build his confidence when in chaotic/multiple stimuli situations. Hugo would never bolt nor run, rather if unsure he will get large, and asks the rider how he should process the situation. I am not confident enough to respond correctly, and as such, I am diminishing his growth and ability to process new situations. Hugo has the potential to be a dream horse, unfortunately I have come to the sad conclusion that is just not with me as his owner. Hugo has made amazing strides in the last 5 years and is someone's dream horse. Hugo is the kind of horse if you dedicate the time, and are ultra confident and knowledgeable about Canadians, he can accomplish amazing things. Hugo's price reflects my 100% open transparency that he needs a confident and knowledgeable owner/rider who is willing to take the time to finish his training. My goal is to find him his perfect owner and the price reflects that.
