A Boy Named Sue A. is an extraordinary 8-year-old registered Missouri Fox Trotter gelding with impressive talents, skills, and a charming personality. Sue is a beautiful, well-mannered, intelligent, and athletic horse that is fun to ride and a joy to be around. Sue was owned and trained for four years by W2 Horses, two exceptional trainers, Laura and Winston Way, who dedicated their time to shaping Sue into one of the most remarkable horses. I am 74 years old and have owned Sue for almost two wonderful years since purchasing him from W2 Horses.... (read more) Unfortunately, my back has deteriorated to the point that I can no longer spend the time with him that this young horse deserves. He is way too good of a horse to spend his time standing in a run, so I have decided to offer you a rare opportunity to own something extraordinarily special!
Sue’s solid foundation and exceptional training have stood the test of time, with his skills remaining sharp and maintained throughout the years. With impeccable ground manners, he backs up, side passes, and follows you respectfully. Under saddle, he flexes, responds to leg pressure, and is very soft. Sue neck reins, stops with your seat, and backs up with gentle leg cues. He can be ridden bareback and bridleless, showing how in tune he is with his rider. His running walk is very smooth, and his slow lope allows for long, enjoyable rides. His normal walking speed is a steady six mph, which enables him to cover ground efficiently and comfortably. Sue is sure-footed and patient, able to navigate rough terrain without panic. Sue’s calm demeanor and stamina make him perfect for long, rugged trail rides, like those he experienced in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and Wyoming, where he was ridden for two months each fall as part of his training program. Whether it’s challenging mountain terrain or peaceful landscapes, Sue is steady, sure-footed, and always ready for the next challenge. Sue is entirely at ease around traffic, cattle, and wildlife, making him an exceptional choice for a wide range of activities, including bird hunting, which he has extensive experience doing. His ability to work seamlessly with dogs, respond confidently to gunfire, navigate water crossings and bridges, and handle cattle easily highlights his remarkable versatility and readiness for any task. Sue also has a playful and affectionate personality. He craves attention and loves interacting with people. He has learned many tricks, such as laying down on cue, sitting like a dog, and picking up your hat off the ground and handing it to you. Additionally, he was trained for cowboy shooting and will stand while a shotgun is fired from his back. He will drag a log, balance on a teeter-totter, and work a gate well. His friendly nature extends to being great with kids, too! Sue is not just a horse; he’s a once-in-a-lifetime companion who will give his all to anyone who spends time with him.**AVAILABLE AT visit our website MORE INFO call (303) 868-1725**
