Dallas is a four year old BLM Mustang. She came out of holding in March of 2024 and was trained by a teenage girl to compete in America's Next Top Youth Trainer as well as the Michigan Mustang Makeover. She placed 5th overall in Kentucky, and first in the youth division in Michigan. She is not yet titled, so if you are interested in purchasing her, you would need to be approved to adopt by the BLM.
This girl has a solid foundation.... (read more) She w/t/c, backs, side passes both directions, pivots, and can spin. She is extremely confident on the trail and over obstacles. She rides english or western, in a hackamore or in a halter - but it wouldn't take much to get her bitted up. She knows several tricks and can pick you up at the mounting block, though she may need a refresher on that. She stands tied, loads, stands to be bathed, and is good for the farrier. I have taken her out in the field foxhunting and she has never taken a bad step or offered to spook at anything. I have not jumped her, but she is a quick learner. I have yet to meet a horse she doesn't get a long with. She does not bite or kick.
She does have some vices. She can be difficult to catch, but we have been working on it and she has improved vastly and has started to meet me at the gate. She has been known to buck as well. She bucked a lot when she was first started under saddle, but seemed to come out of it. She did not buck for months, until recently when she had an episode. I am not sure if its a saddle fit issue, a vet issue, or just a fluke. I believe both of these issues could be solved quickly and easily, I just do not have the time.
The reason I am offering her is I believe that she needs someone to spend more time with her. I have two other horses to work with and a busy work schedule. She has been complimented everywhere we go for being such a solid baby, I just can't risk getting injured if she decides to buck again. My loss is your gain.
