If you are looking for a safe, well broke ranch horse that is gentle enough for the entire family to ride, then take a look at Honey. She is the type of horse that dad can go rope off of in the morning and then the kids can ride her in the afternoon. She knows who is on her back and will step it up for an experienced rider, and then slow it down for the little ones. Honey has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off, and stays gentle even if not ridden regularly.... (read more) She came off of a big ranch out in West Texas, and has been used for all phases of ranch work including dragging calves, doctoring cattle out in the pasture, and sorting pairs. She is 14 years old and 15 hh, with a big hip and plenty of shape. Honey is the right mix of slow and go. She will go when asked and actually has plenty of speed, but is content to walk quietly on a loose rein if you prefer. She has a very good neck rein, is good on both leads, will sidepass and work a gate. Honey doesn’t mind carrying a flag and would make an excellent drill team horse, with her speed and her good handle. She is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. She is very easy to catch and has good ground manners, is excellent for the shoer, and gets along well with all other horses. Honey has been taught to travel out and cover some ground, and has comfortable gaits. She will ride out alone as well as with a group, will happily lead or follow, and has been ridden down the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it.
