Ivy is a 2009 15.1hh Hanoverian/ Thoroughbred Mare.
Her person left for college and she has sat for 4 years and needs a strong quick refresher. Ivee is currently not happy with her living situation and needs a stable home. We moved during the winter and had to board her and she is very anxious at this boarding farm. She is a homebody at heart and she’s is presenting as a completely different horse and it breaks my heart.
Who she is normally: She is great on the flat- beautiful, floating gaits.... (read more) She pivots, side passes, backs, and picks up her leads. Say "woah" and sit back and she stops the second you ask. Stands great for farrier, vet, and baths. Picks up her feet for anybody and stands well to be groomed and tacked -She was shown on e teams in high school, in 4H, the county fair, and barrels. She does Showmanship, Western Pleasure, English Pleasure, Jumping, Trail, and some Speed Events. She is easy and fun and comfortable to ride! she would be best with an advanced rider, but with somebody there to help the rider out, she would be well suited for an advanced beginner.
Who is she right now: Still knows and will do all she’s trained to do but she is anxious doesn’t pay attention to you on the ground, tests you in the saddle, hates going into the stall barn and dances all over not paying attention. I have to take the time to constantly bring her attention back to me, won’t stand quietly tied, won’t stand to be saddled won’t immediately stand to be mounted. The things you use to be able to just do now take time and patience because she is just out of her head at this boarding facility. This is a horse that I have put my grandchildren on over the years and would not be able to do that at all right now. She is just not happy where she is.
I have priced her under what I believe she is worth due to her needing time and patience to get her back to her full potential but I am negotiable on the price to the right home.
