This is one fancy mare, with all the shape you want, plus a little bit of color and a lot of brains. Willow is a 4 year old red dun mare, 15.1 hh and beautifully built with a big hip, plenty of bone and a pretty head with a kind eye. She is very willing and good minded, and with just a little bit of finishing out will make one heck of a nice horse. Willow is quiet and laid back, but has plenty of speed when you ask her for it. She has the brains to be a great trail horse but also the athletic ability to make a nice performance horse.... (read more) Willow has had about 90 days of riding, all of them out on a big ranch in West Texas. She has been ridden many miles out in the pasture, and has been taught to travel out and cover some ground. Willow is a pretty mover and smooth and comfortable to ride. She has a good foundation and has only had one owner before us. She is apparently AQHA registered but her papers were lost, so she sells as grade. Willow was born gentle and has always been that way, never offering to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off, even on the coldest of days. Willow will cross water with no problem, and is very sure footed. She will go up, over or through anything you point her at. Willow is good for the shoer, loads and hauls well, and stands quietly tied. She will ride out alone as well as with a group, will happily lead or follow and has been ridden down the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it.
