Rosie is ready and looking for a new home to give her an easy-going, part-time job once this snow melts. Rosie was ridden in an indoor arena with just a halter and lead rope one time in the fall by an experienced rider, and she plodded along at a very slow pace. A refresher would be recommended before taking her out on any trails as her experience as a riding horse is unknown. Rosie currently is on pasture full time in a mixed herd, and comes in for feeding once a day.... (read more) She gets 5lbs of senior feed and 2lbs of alfalfa pellets; the pellets are soaked overnight due to her teeth.
She would benefit from a joint supplement such as Equioxx or Cosequin, but she does not have any lameness issues at this time. Rosie has choked twice and had an impaction once since coming to me. All three times she has been able to resolve the issue on her own and without extreme medical intervention. With the how poor her teeth are, it is important that her feed continues to be soaked overnight to try and keep the frequency and severity of these issues as minimal as possible. Rosie is not suffering and I have been in close contact with her vet for these concerns, and am working with them to come up with the best plan for Rosie.
I would like to keep in touch with the new owner(s), so if this is something you're not comfortable with, then please don't inquire about Rosie. Her price is negotiable to the best home for her.
