Check out these pretty girls! I have two lovely mares looking for a new home that I am selling for a client. First mare is Maple, 13yr old 15hh grade Appaloosa/paint cross mare. She’s guaranteed to turn heads! She would make a great project for an experienced rider or a pretty pasture pet/companion. Maple was rescued from the kill pen four years ago and is now looking for her forever home. She does have some training in her past. Did lots of western riding, trail riding, and low level dressage.... (read more) Although, she has not been worked since 2022 due to owner’s pregnancy. If you’re looking for a horse to ride and you are not experienced, Maple is not for you. She is a sweetheart on the ground but will need work under saddle. NOTE: Maple does have mild navicular. She is sound barefoot but will probably require shoes with pads if ridden. Veterinarian approved light riding. Besides that, she is sound and healthy.
Second horse is Star, a 22yr old 15hh dun QH mare. Looking for a sweet, gentle, and safe horse for light riding or a sweet pasture pet? Well, here she is! Such a sweet girl and is good with kids. Star was a rescue and we don’t know much about her past. She is calm under saddle and would make a great kid’s/light riding horse. She does have cushings disease which is well controlled by Prascend tablet 1mg (1/2 tablet once a day). Besides that, she is sound and healthy.
Both mares are easy keepers. Good with vet and farrier. Easy to catch from the field. UTD on shots, farrier, and dentist. Would like to keep them together. GOOD HOME IS A MUST! The owner would like first rights back. Willing to do a trial. Both mares are super sweet and deserve the best. Small rehoming fee of $800 for the pair. Located in Shinglehouse, PA
