8/9 yr grade 14.3 QH gelding

“Sam” is a well broke gelding that has mainly been a trail horse his entire life. He is well mannered on the ground with all grooming and tacking up. Stands tied quietly and patiently. He can be trail ridden by almost all levels of riders, he crosses creeks, logs, and handles rough/ steep terrain with ease. We have hauled him to several new places to ride and he has never been spooky or reactive and settles in right away.... (read more) Sampson neck reins, takes his leads and does have a decent head set. He has the potential to be a great open show/ 4H horse, and would be super cute riding English. I do recommend him for a confident advanced beginner or intermediate rider in an arena setting. He does have an issue with wanting to stop at the gate, but once he is pushed through it and respects you then he doesn’t try it anymore. Sam is sound but does have some calcification on his back ankle. It is more cosmetic and does not affect his way of going.

This is a really nice gelding with tons of potential in the right setting or just keep enjoying hitting the trails with him.
