A full panel APHA Etalon Diagnostic test was conducted and she is confirmed homozygous tobiano & black, heterozygous dun & cream as well as 6 panel negative and much more to include Negative IMM. (read more) Galena is ready to be lightly started this spring as a two year old and was introduced to lunging and being desensitized to tarps, loud sudden noises and movements by my trainer in October & November 2024. She is doing well but needs a confident, knowledgeable trainer guiding her and giving her the time needed to achieve success. She is smart and willing, easy to catch and friendly but is very person specific and has a preference to women. She has a lovely floaty trot and is sound. She is not 100% straight in her rear left canon however which would likely impact any type of a halter career but should not be and issue in riding or breeding her depending on how much those joints are stressed in your particular discipline. No guarantees and an in-person inspection is always encouraged. I am certain the defect is not genetic as I have produced 4 foals from this cross and she is the only one exhibiting any imperfection. She has a much greater size and pastern length than any of her 3 brothers that favor their dam with more of the bulldog type conformation. She has been monitored since birth but unfortunately things have just not straightened out like my vet and I would have liked to have seen. She is still young so there is still a chance but doubtful things will ever be “perfect”. Regardless she is a quality filly with the hard to find smoky grulla color and a pedigree that speaks for itself therefore her price is firm for now as she is just hitting the market and I am not in a hurry to sell her. I will have several mares and foals to offer as the spring season unfolds and will list them as the babies are born and testing is completed. For now Galena and her dam are on this site and others. If you are looking for something in particular please let me know and I will see if I have anything that fits. I am not in a rush and the prices are firm for now as I have considered all attributes of my herd in valuing them.
