For Your Consideration: Fleet Cat Feet, "Cat" –
Looking for a versatile, loving, and talented partner? Meet Fleet Cat Feet, or “Cat” – the perfect horse for smaller adult and child riders who want to take their riding to the next level.
Cat is a stunning mare with light, flowing gaits that will make every ride feel effortless. She’s the ultimate combination of sweet and hardworking. She'll greet you like a puppy, but don’t let that fool you – she’s an absolute powerhouse when it comes to work!... (read more)
Whether you’re looking to build confidence, develop your skills, or just enjoy a horse who loves to perform, Cat is the one for you.
Key Highlights:
Exceptional to 2’9, with experience up to 3’ – she has the scope for more with a confident rider.
Extensive Jumper experience – Cat thrives in the jumper ring, earning numerous blue ribbons and year-end championships, including High Point Jumper awards for two consecutive years.
Versatile – she loves all three rings, but the jumper ring is where she shines. She's agile, adjustable, and makes tight turns and inside lines a breeze. Would also make a hunter with the right rider - that's not me!
Easy to ride – Cat is light in the bridle, responsive off your legs, and a joy to work with. She’s not a push ride but doesn’t need to be held back either – she wants to do the job right.
Confidence Builder – With her steady, willing attitude, Cat will help her rider grow and gain confidence in their abilities. She’s also great with beginners, though I’d prefer her with a rider who has some experience or is actively in training to keep her mind engaged.
Mare with a Heart of Gold – Though she’s a little bossy in the field, she’s largely un-marish and tolerates being in heat without issue. She loves attention and cuddles and gets along well with others.
Additional Details:
OTTB mare, foaled in 2012 (13 years old), standing around 15 hands. (Rider pictured is 5'2.)
Low maintenance – Easy keeper who currently lives outdoors 24/7 with supplemental alfalfa hay.
Barefoot and loads well. Has had front shoes if dealing with a lot of rocks.
Sweet and forgiving – Cat is incredibly forgiving of rider mistakes and can handle a joke, but she thrives with a light touch and no aggression.
Well-Trained and Reliable – After time off (like my own recovery from a tailbone injury), you can literally turn her out for six months and hop back on without missing a beat. She’s that reliable.
A Few Things to Know:
Cat does not enjoy having her ears clipped (she still remembers her racing days!) and thinks farrier appointments are more fun with friends around.
She has shown time and time again that she’s ready for anything, with proven results in both the arena and on solo trail rides.
Lowest of 5s, starting with a 2, somewhat negotiable to the right home. Paid lease option potentially available.
If you’re looking for a kind, beautiful, and talented horse who will take you far – both in the arena and beyond – Cat is your perfect match.
