“Been there done that” with more whoa than go; calm, safe, and bombproof!
Olivia has a consistent lessee (he's been riding her 3x/week for 3 years) who is hoping to continue the lease if the buyer is located in the Hillsboro area.
Due to an upcoming move out of state, I am faced with the difficult decision of rehoming my sweet mare Olivia. She has been a true joy to own, and I’m seeking a rider who will treat her like family and unlock her full potential.... (read more) She’s in prime physical condition for her age (18 yrs) – sound, fit, and ready for continued work with no health concerns.
Looking for a caring, confident, and experienced rider who will appreciate her willing and fun personality.
Temperament: Olivia is a willing, fast learner with just the right amount of sass to keep you on your toes! She’s never unsafe, but she has a strong personality that makes her a fun and interesting partner for an experienced rider.
-Discipline/Training: Lesson horse, gaming, trail riding, roping, up for anything!
- Suitability: Olivia is ideal for intermediate riders, teens, or adults with some experience. While she can be a great confidence-builder for beginners, her person must be firm, consistent, and able to handle her playful attempts to avoid working.
- Potential Broodmare: Tested 7 panel negative
- Regular yearly vet checks/vaccines updated and teeth done (pre purchase exam at owners expense)
History:
- Olivia has been used for lessons with kids and intermediate teens and is always eager to please and learn new things.
- She has competed in gaming with OSHET (Barrels, Poles, Keyhole, Figure 8, and many more).
- She has done some cow sorting and team penning, halter shows, and roping
- Olivia has also dabbled in dressage and had just started low-level hunter jumping with last owner (she was never fully finished, but shows potential)
- She participated in a parade and was perfect – calm, steady, and confident in a busy setting.
- She excels on the trails – confident and calm in woods or at the beach
- Trailers best with a buddy but can be trailered alone if needed.
- Teen rider is interested in using her for OHSET or continuing lessons, if the new owner agrees. This could be a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a fun and capable horse for competitive events.
Her rider must be experienced enough to remain firm and clear with commands. She’s great for teaching beginners how to build confidence and control, but her owner will need to be consistent and not phased by her occasional playful tricks.
