Buzz is 9 years old, so he’s in his prime! Approximately 14.2 hands tall. Short backed and thick. Nice smooth jog if you know how to ask for it. Low man in the field but will defend himself. Picks up all 4 feet with ease, ties, loads and unloads, good for farrier. Has a pretty decent handle on him but could use some fine tuning. Great trail horse. He’s looks but not reactive. Crossed water, logs, mud, fine with dogs, leads and follows.... (read more) Has been used in the pasture to rope and push cattle. He is a seasoned barrel and pole horse.
I would say he needs a confident intermediate rider - could be used for lessons as a step up from beginner horse. He will w/t/l and needs a little push to get that lope but there is ZERO attitude to this guy. No buck at all. If you get super bad heavy into his mouth and pick an argument with him about then he might pop up but it’s nothing dangerous or out of control. I don’t pick arguments with my horses - I ask and “hold the ask” until they comply, and I’ve had no problems with him that were not very quickly and easily able to be
He’s a really sweet guy - I’ve had kids all around him on the ground. He’s really great and turns to a marshmallow quick when he realizes you’re gonna be gentle with him.

I have not personally roped off of him yet but plan to get videos of that this weekend. I will not be getting any videos of him on the pattern but I’m happy to meet at an arena so you can see what he’s like and try him out yourself. He’s a super cool and nice guy!!

Only real negative things I can say so far is that he will paw when tied and left alone - in and out of a trailer - but in just 2 weeks he has majorly improved on that - barely doing it now.
He can take a few minutes to catch.
And if you pull on him a lot, he gets where he doesn’t want to turn to the right. I’m going to have him looked at asap to make sure it’s not a tooth or poll/neck issue.

I also give riding lessons, and take in outside horses for training and problem solving. And I raise Nigerian Dwarf goats and I am starting to raise milk goats.
