Hurricane is a 16-year-old Paint Quarter Horse from Texas standing at 15 hands. I've owned him for nearly a year now. He was one of the kids' favorites at our summer camp this past year. He is frequently requested by our trail riders of all ages from 6 to 80. He is nostalgically mentioned in a number of our customer reviews. He is sweet and unflappable out on the trails. Nothing phases him - not birds, deer, dogs, 4-wheelers, tractors, traffic, water, mud, bridges, or the two neighboring firing ranges - nothing.... (read more) As you can see in the videos on Dead Broke Farm's website, we've used him for summer camp, pony rides, trail rides, and festivals.
Hurricane is perfect for you if you are just learning to ride or if you've lost your confidence due to a bad experience. He will lead or follow, but he prefers to follow. So if you have a timid child or a husband new to riding, Hurricane would be an ideal horse for them. He's very content to mosey along and do whatever the rest of the horses are doing. He will walk along calmly with the group or easily pick up the pace along with the rest if you ask him to. In other words, he has more 'whoa than go', but he's not lazy. They don't get any easier to ride than Hurricane.
Hurricane loads and unloads in a matter of seconds - not hours. He's easy to catch, bathe, and spray for flies. He's kind to the farrier and loves attention. He's calm, and will stand at the hitching rail for hours without pawing or chewing on the wood. You can witness him in action in the videos on our website of his nice jog and canter. As you can see, he has nice extension. This nice Paint Quarter Horse is for sale and could be yours for just $8,700. You won't find a better horse for you and your family.
People always ask why we're selling our horses. There's nothing wrong with them. Quite the contrary. They're for sale because it's part of our business model: we buy, train, put lots of trail hours on them, and make them safe for beginners, and eventually we sell them at a profit to compensate us for all the training and trail hours we have put on them. We don't have to speculate as to what age or riding level a rider needs to be at in order to ride them. We KNOW because they've done it many times over. If we say a 6 year-old child with no riding experience can ride the horse, then they can - and have. And if we say we wouldn't put anyone younger than an inexperienced 10 year-old, then you shouldn't consider the horse for your 5 year-old to ride on their own. All our horses sell as sound with no vices. To see all of our horses for sale, schedule time to come see them at Dead Broke Farm. Prices listed are firm.
