Meet “Chief;” a sweet, gentle guy in a flashy bay pinto package. He is a 14.2 2018 draft cross gelding.

He’s not only sweet, he rides, drives, and packs! Western or english, bareback or saddled, Chief is always up for whatever you ask.

Chief is fun in the arena, with basic buttons including a neck rein, sidepass, rollbacks and leg yields. While not the fanciest arena ride, he’s honest and tries hard for his rider, going only the gait asked, with a smooth jog and rocking-chair lope, and a great stop.... (read more)

For Chief, the trail is just another day. He has seen it all from mountains in Alberta to the desert of Arizona. He’s safe amongst traffic, or out alone or with friends deep in the backcountry. He’s been used in strings in the mountains and also been lightly packed.

In the arena, Chief will try anything you like. He is exposed to a variety of obstacles including tarps, balls, poles, and more. He is also willing to pop over some low jumps. He's very smart and handles new things well.

Finally, Chief truly shines in front of the cart; he is so fun to drive, with a laid back and polite manner. He'll stand all day while you hitch or unhitch, or get settled in the cart.

Chief has good ground manners and is easy to catch, load, tie, trim, shoe, clip, and more. He’ll even slide up to the mounting block for you to get on. He does not require any maintenance, has zero scars, and has no buck, bolt, or rear.

Chief is thick and wide (1300 lbs) with a size 1 foot, wearing a size 34” cinch, and takes up leg like nobody’s business, meaning he would suit almost any size rider.

Chief would suit any level of confident rider, and he would also make a great youth or 4H horse. With a bit more finishing, he would make a fancy low-level dressage mount, too.
