Dill has an excellent foundation under saddle and is making a really nice, reliable ranch gelding. He has a gentle, trainable disposition with a lot of try, and I’ve had him in all manner of terrain hunting and chasing cows out in the gumbos.... (read more) Dill is a natural on cattle, and has gotten handy about chasing stuff and turning back critters. He has been surefooted and solid for me out in the hills, and hasn’t offered to be broncy with time off. Dill had the chance to rope and drag some calves in the branding pen as a three-year-old and has roped a couple calves to doctor. He has been handy about working the rope when it’s on an animal, sensible, and really, really fun. His only quirk that I’ve found is he will look at the rope and maybe offer to back up when you’re dragging it back to you if you’re standing still, but if he’s walking forward he doesn’t care. Dill is very forgiving and sweet, and really wants to please his rider.

Dill is by Awesome Tomcat, a Mr Pete Oswald, Roanys Tomcat stallion, and out of a Boon Bar, Gallo Del Cielo, High Rolling Roany mare. He hails from Walker Ranch in Mussellshell, Montana. I own two paternal sisters to this gelding, one of which was a super nice ranch riding horse turned broodmare, and the other is a coming yearling.

Dill sells freeze-branded Lazy K M Over Bar on his left shoulder. He catches me, is good to trim, has worn one set of shoes, and is fabulous to trailer. He’s up to date on worming and trimming. Dill had a routine tooth float on 10-3-24. Vet checks welcome at buyer’s expense. Buyer responsible for shipping, and Coggins and Health paperwork if outside of the state of Montana.
