Wrigley is a 4 year old AQHA registered gelding standing 15 hands high. I personally love riding this horse, he's the type I'd keep for myself if I needed another personal horse.... (read more) He is just the right mix of athlete and sensibility. You can take him to a jumper show one day, and work cows the next, and then throw a friend on for a fun trail ride afterwards. He is so versatile and talented, that anything you do with him, he does it well. Wrigley is sporty, well broke, and adaptable for any discipline. He is a true jack of all trades. Talented and ready to work in the ring, while being sensible and reliable on any terrain.
In the ring, Wrigley is very well broke, both English and western. He has a one hand neck rein, spins, stops, and has flying changes. You never have to ask anything twice, he is responsive and forward thinking - but sensible enough to take a joke. He knows the lateral work, is soft and round in the bridle, and has easy transitions. He picks up both leads from a standstill, extends and collects, and works well off leg pressure. Wrigley jumps a course, and has been one of the bravest horses to come through then farm. This horse is a dream on the cross country field, jumping everything we have pointed him at without a second thought. He is the type that likes having a job in the ring, he's happy to babysit and ride on a loose rein on the trails, and knows it's time to go to work in the arena. He is the perfect eventing, dressage, or working equitation mount! He's been roped off of, pushed cattle at the sale barn, and used to drag logs in the woods. Whether you are a Dressage Queen, or a cowboy, you can enjoy Wrigley's talents!
Off property and on the trails, Wrigley is well versed and knows his job. He hops off the trailer ready for any job that's thrown his way. From working cows, to hunter paces, cross country events, clinics, and everything in between. Wrigley is a smart gentleman who has always been sensible and safe on the trails and in the country. He loves having a job, and always tries his best. On the trails, Wrigley is happy riding alone or in a group. He hops right into water, is safe with traffic, livestock, and anything else you may come across. He has seen many aspects of ranch work, so a trail ride with your friends is a walk in the park as he's used to rugged terrain, loud livestock, ATV's, and more!
In the barn, Wrigley is polite and mannerly. He is a gentleman in the crossties to be bathed, tacked, clipped, and groomed. He is happy living inside or out, and gets along well with whoever his pasture mates are. Wrigley has no vices or maintenance, and is a very easy keeper.
