Kes is a beautiful black registered Connemara half-breed gelding that we are looking to rehome. We don't have the time to ride him and he would thrive with something to do and some loving attention.

He is around 18-20 years old, but don't let that fool you, he acts more like a 10 or 12-year-old. He has zero wear or tear, is in great shape, and is ready to be restarted under saddle. He has had a handful of years off, so would require time and patience, probably starting with some groundwork first.... (read more) But if you have experience, I believe retraining him will be easy, as he allowed me to hop on bareback and with a saddle after years off and behaved himself like a gentleman. He has experience in eventing and trail riding, but we are not looking for him to restart a career. He would be happiest being someone's trail companion or pleasure horse. He is brave out in the woods, in a group or solo. He has been ridden Western and English.

He is up to date with the vet, and dentist, and sees a farrier for trims every 3 months. He goes. barefoot and is a low-key keeper who is happy to live out in the warm months on pasture and hay, then come in during the winter when we supplement with grain or mash.

We will only be letting him go to a forever home where it will be agreed that he will return to us should your situation change and you can no longer keep horses. We will require vet/farrier info and/or references. We will keep him if we don't find the right match. Located in Hartland, VT.
