Silver is a 16-year-old registered Shetland with a great pedigree and he's a 7X National Champion in children's riding classes at Shetland Congress. He is a very talented little hunter jumper and also rides western, does games, etc. He can easily jump 2’ 9” and has springs!
Can collect, do walk to canters , you name it!
He is a very willing, well-trained, responsive pony with good manners and he would be a terrific riding pony for a more confident child that has some riding experience.... (read more) He has a more stocky build and looks more like a Welsh pony than a Shetland. He is flea-bitten gray and 46" tall. He's an easy keeper, easy to handle and just easy to be around. Never in the years that we've owned him has he needed vet care beyond yearly maintenance and dental check ups. He's up-to-date on everything....shots, coggins, de-worming, farrier and dental work. He is in a mixed herd of mares and geldings and all sizes of horses and ponies. He can be out on grass with no issues and has never foundered or had any problems.
He truly is a unicorn.
I will say he would do best with a child that has some riding knowledge and experience because he is responsive to light hands and he understands seat and leg cues. He's trained like a "big horse". He's not a lazy little plow-reined farm pony that you have to kick and kick to get to move or drag around for pony rides. He is used to being treated (and ridden) like a “big horse”by a little rider that at least knows basic cues and rides independently and has properly fitted tack.???
He can also be a lead line pony.
Got for a step up pony for daughter , but she has already jumped to a full size horse!
