✨ About Golden Hughes ✨
How does he jump? This guy can jump the moon with ease! He's a powerful and scopey jumper who's brought home multiple champions at jumper shows and has competed in two eventing schooling shows.... (read more) Scope is NO PROBLEM with this guy. He has absoluitely NO SPOOK. He will jump anything without second guessing from any distance.
How is he with his flat work? He has an incredibly beautiful trot and smooth transitions—he can move from a halt to a canter with just a kiss! His lead changes are easy, he does most of them automatically. He is great on pasture rides and trail rides.
What's he like in the barn? Hubert is an absolute ham. He has become such an easy keeper over the years. He has been stalled during the day, but recently he's been living outside 24/7 due to construction on the barn. He is everyone's favorite. He will smile and kiss you on command (for treats). First to come in to eat, easy to catch, and loves to be groomed.
How are his feet? Two front shoes only. Keeps his shoes on and never takes a lame step. Out of all the TBs I've had, his feet have been the easiest! I have had him for a few years and my farrier is amazing, so his feet are in great shape!
How can he improve? He needs someone to focus on balance, straightness, and accepting the bit more. He can get wiggly in his downward transitions, but hey, it's probably my fault. He tends to get impatient waiting around at the HJ shows and prefers the eventing atmosphere, but I believe this is just due to lack of experience.

Golden Hughes thrives on a consistent training program and would benefit from focused flatwork to help him with straightness, balance, and to settle into the bit. He's ready for someone who can give him the time and attention to finish his training and unlock his full potential. He does not need a young rider, beginner, or someone looking to go to a show tomorrow and win. He needs someone working with a professional in a program, that's patient, wants the project, and is brave.

This horse has been my partner in crime and is truly one of the best horses I've ever owned. He's talented, fun, and exciting, with a personality that will make him your best friend. Life changes have made it hard for me to give him the consistency he deserves, and I want to see him thrive with the right person who believes in him as much as I do.
