Pip is a beautiful well built black QH mare that anyone can ride. She was most recently owned by a family and used on Oak Tree farm and carries their brand on her left hip. She has been used on the ranch to pasture rope, doctor cattle, sort pairs, and push cattle onto trailers.... (read more) She will watch a cow. Anyone that can sit in a saddle can ride this mare, she is a dream. She will ride with a loose one-hand neck rein, a good backup, and stop. She is smooth at the walk, trot, and canter. She will ride the same way, every time whether she is rode every day or once a year, no warm up necessary, just hop on and go.
She has been on the trails here at Banshee Ranch, ridden through obstacles over teeter-totter, noisy bridges, through thick brush, over fallen trees, across water, downstream, up/down/across deep ditches and ravines. She will let you carry a flag, open/close gates off of her. Pip will go anywhere you point her without hesitation. She is perfect in the area with other horses riding all around her and coming at her from both directions during warm ups.
Pip will stand still while being clipped, bathed, groomed, fly sprayed, picking her feet, and for the vet/farrier, and while being bridled, and saddled. She stands still for mounting (from the ground or from a mounting block), she stands tied to the trailer, fence or cross ties, and she loads and hauls very well. She is very gentle, with good ground manners, she is easy to catch, is kid and dog friendly, and gets along well with all of our other horses, she hasn't been "mare-ish". She will suit the beginner or novice and has the fancy handle that the old pro will enjoy.
Pip will be a great prospect for; ranch rodeo, little britches, ranch sorting, team penning, grand entry, playdays, barrels, poles, goat tying, drill team, parades, queen's contest, western pleasure, trail riding, trail competitions, walk-trot, lead line, or as a lesson horse. She would make a great family horse, she is gentle enough for the kids to ride and learn on, and then will go to work for mom and dad as a using horse for the ranch, at events, or on trail rides.
Pip is a very beautiful jet black mare standing 14.2hh, with halter horse conformations. She has a beautiful refined head, a pretty face with a kind eye, a good strong thick neck and shoulder, a nice mane and tail, a good wither, straight back, with a wide chest, and hip. Pip will be the right one from beginner to pro. She is safe, sound, sane, with no vices. Please no outside trades, deposits, or payment plans. First come, first serve.
