Ariat is as different as any crossbred that we have had! He is a Fjord/Quarter Horse cross and he has he look of the Fjord with that golden buckskin coloring and the ridability of a quarter horse, so he is the best of both worlds!!!... (read more) Ariat stands 15.1hh. He will weigh 1200lbs and he is a 2019 model. Ariat is certainly an attractive fellow but there is a lot more to him than what meets the eye! Ariat is everyones best friend as he loves attention and is very calm natured. Ariat is out of the same breeding program as several other top draftcross geldings that we have had over the last 4 years and every one of them has the right mind with the calm nature that makes them great family horses. Ariat has been with us since last year and has completed the natural horsemanship training and has done liberty work and he also knows some tricks such as he will lay down. Ariat has been ridden by every member of our family all the way down to our 6 year old daughter. He has been ridden down the highways and he is traffic safe as well. Ariat is great on trails and he will cross creeks, ditches, logs and navigate rough rocky areas. He has a smooth jog, a VERY VERY nice easy to set lope, a good stop, reins around and turns a circle both ways and backs with ease! He has been exposed to all kinds of wildlife such as deer or turkey or other animals like cows or dogs and will go anywhere that he is asked too. He has been rode many miles in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky and encountered every obstacle possible on the trail. He will go up or down even the steepest slopes, across deep creeks, over downed trees, and over all types of rough terrain while still being sure footed. Ariat is not cinchy, cold backed, does not crib or weave. In addition to riding, Ariat has also been driven down the highways as well. Ariat is a rare find that anyone is lucky to have!!! We specialize in beginner safe, gentle, broke, trail horses. We work with all horses personally for a good period of time before they are offered for sale. We do bomproof training, all horses have had guns shot off of their backs, ridden over tarps, by atvs, in heavy traffic and will ride on rough trails, through deep water, and all horses are naturally gaited.
