Rudy and Cecelia are two burros that my organization, Mustang Mission, rescued this past Spring. Both were wild born in California and captured from the wild a few years ago. Rudy is 18, 13hh and Cecelia is 14, 12hh. They are now looking for an adopter! They will only be adopted out together since they’re bonded. They’ve been through so much already and change is especially hard for older equines. I want this last transition to be as smooth and seamless as possible.... (read more)
Rudy and Cecelia will be ready to move to their new home in 2-5 months, but prospective adopters must begin the adoption process now.
Rudy and Cecelia are the sweetest animals I have ever been around. They genuinely love attention and being cuddled. They would make the best therapy pet for someone! ?
⭐️ This is what we’re looking for in our ideal adopter:
-Must live within five hours of Mustang Mission (Springfield, GA).
-Must have experience with donkeys.
-Must be willing to consistently spend time with them and keep up some minimal training so they don’t revert back into their wild state. That would be like spending at least fifteen minutes 3-4 times a week picking out their feet, brushing them, etc.
-Must understand that these burros need a peaceful retirement and not expect too much of them.
-Must have adequate pasture/paddock space and shelter.
-Adopter must understand that equines react 99% out of fear or pain and be willing to discover why “bad” behavior is occurring and problem-solve without blaming the equine.
If you believe you are that person, PLEASE contact me! I'm looking for the very best home for them.
