Bruce is a black 16-17 yr old (vet aged) Grade QH gelding, standing at approximately 14.2/14.3hh. UTD on vaccines, shots, farrier.
The last two years Bruce has been a lesson horse, doing therapeutic riding, and w/t/c lessons in the arena and trail. He prefers the trails to the arena, but still works well for his rider regardless.
He is currently turned out during the day and stalled at night. While he’s does well with this he loves his turnout and would thrive in 24/7 turnout as well.... (read more)
Bruce goes western and english. He neck reins, and has mainly been ridden in a snaffle or side pull. He’s great for ponying. He will both tie and crosstie, and stands patiently for grooming and tacking. He is good for both the farrier and the vet. He currently is shod in the front, due to requiring slight maintenance (PM for more info), although we’re working on potentially transitioning him to barefoot.
He’s been ridden in parades, and trails, and is traffic safe.
I do not think he’s for a complete beginner. While he’s safe, he prefers someone who is knows what they’re doing.
He’s been a great addition to the program, but he’s shown us recently that he wants his own family or person.
