Meet Moxie
This mare is one of my own and I dont want to list her, big girl decisions are calling and I have to at this point. She is really really NICE!! We love her ALOT!! Moxie is a 6yr old big + shapy + dappled gray mare by Lemon Drop Kid. Stands 16.2hands. She's really quite the QUEEN BEE in many ways!!! Not for a little kid who doesnt know anything about horses as shes a true sporthorse and wants more then a walking in circles type job!... (read more) That wouldn't be enough for her! She's a reliable, point & go, work work work all day, on the cows today, competing come the weekend type of girl! Get what Im sayin!!?! I do not mean she cannot be a trail horse or that she's hot because she's not but she does desire more then 20min at a walk once a week type of life. Moxie does not have to be rode daily we've let her sit for weeks when life got busy, tacked her up, and she rode right off without issue.
Moxie is bred extremely well on both the top & bottom side and has several highly desirable bloodlines including Kingmambo, Seattle Slew, Halo, Unbridled's Song. She is a LOVELY LOVELY mare in all ways and the reason many people LOVE mares! Once you have that relationship w/a good mare everything else is history, they have your back always! She is classy, athletic, competitive, opinionated, has a little spice but nothing dangerous, she is full of personality, and STUNNING! Loves attention, grooming time, peppermints, and being cold hosed on hot days. She is like majority of grays and enjoys mud rolling, swimming, and attempting to get one foot in the water trough to splash around. Moxie is one of the easiest keepers we have ever had! Barefoot. Trailers like a pro! She has earnings just shy of 50k and could've kept racing but her former owner was moving tracks so we bought her while we had the chance too! No former track injuries.
Moxie is KIND and on her best behavior around kids, she is around ours on a regular basis. Turns out without issues with both mares & geldings. Helps babysit a few yearlings and is really good w/ them. Doesn't test fencing ever! She is content w/life! Mid pecking order. No vices! Moxie has been trailered to different events for the experience, long hacks off property, rode in the arena, poles, trotted the pattern w/my teen daughter, rode both western & english and has proven to be extremely versatile! She picks up on things quick and is bright, she loves to work, and aims to please! Moxie is a joy to be around, she will stall up quietly or can be pasture board. Gets a nice winter coat and winters well. Stands perfect for the farrier. Tacks up without issue. Rides in a happy mouth snaffle bit. Easy to catch in a large herd and pasture, she comes right up to the gate. No maintenance needs. Suitable for anyone that has some confidence and knows the basics of how to ride.
She has a solid wtc, neck reins, has brakes, lunges, backs up, has been all over our obstacle courses, rode next to dogs, popped over jumps, free jumped and proven to be scopy! Been to the range, bonfires, state park, around all sorts of farm animals and didnt bat an eye. She is certainly brave and willing to attempt new tasks. My son can tell Moxie to jump and she'll go do it! If he skips next to her she trots alongside him This mare is the real deal and soo SWEET, everyone who meets her loves her! She's been used as a fill in for a couple clinics and even done walk trot lessons with a handful of youth this summer.
