(read more) His name Linus wasn’t chosen by accident! Just like his namesake (Linus from Charlie Brown) he is thoughtful and respectful, as dependable as a good security blanket, and smart as they come. If you’re looking for a really broke, gentle, and exceptionally kind gelding that has experience on the trails, ranch, arena, and more Linus is YOUR guy!
Linus has a big beautiful stride and is perfectly collected at the walk, trot, canter/lope. Linus will pick either lead up from a perfect standstill and will stop on dime when asked. He will also complete easy, but correct spins to either direction. His conformation allows for a perfect effortless head set. He is soft in your reins. He’s happy to go in a snaffle or halter for a direct rein or put a western bridle on him for smooth neck reining. Linus will even perform all arena maneuvers BRIDLE-LESS and BAREBACK! Linus goes English and would make a beautiful hunt or equitation horse. HIs big flowy movement makes it easy for any level of rider to ride him! His slow and careful speed and lope departures are smooth and consistent which allows beginner riders the grace to learn.
Linus has spent lots of time on the trail and is confident over logs, brush, water, bridges, and more. Linus is beverage broke to the extreme and loves to casually explore the trails in a relaxed manner. Linus has gathered cattle off of pastures, moved feeder calves down alleyways and opened and closed gates in the stockyards. Linus will also carry a flag, play with the tarp, push the yoga ball, or pull the sled. He is happy to perform any party trick.
Linus would be happy in any type of home or direction, but could excel in the arena as a ranch versatility horse, all-arounder, 4-H or local show horse. Don’t have plans to spend time in the arena? Don’t worry! Linus is happy to continue his career as a trail and pleasure horse, light ranch horse, or just your best buddy!
Linus is perfect to catch and is often waiting at the gate for you. He’s great with his feet, stands tied as long as you like, and is easy to saddle and bridle. Linus will side pass to the fence, mounting block, trailer fender or a big rock for easy mounting too. He’s a perfect gentleman to load, blanket, vet, and shoe. He is also great in a stall or on pasture. Linus is about as close to perfect as a horse comes!
Linus is up to date on worming, farrier care, chiropractic care, vaccinations, health/coggins, and dental. Linus will sell with our optional riding lesson at our home facility in Baxter Springs, Kansas.
