He stands 14.3hh, and is 7 years old. Beautiful conformation, with a pretty head and a kind eye. He has some really nice bloodlines, and some big names all through his pedigree!
He’s one of those “in your pocket” geldings, he will put his head in your lap and soak up the attention. Great manners, easy to catch, tack up, etc.
On top of his good looks and kind disposition, Moonshine is a top notch riding horse as well. He is stout, strong and can carry any size rider no problem. Gentle as can be, and safe for any level rider. User friendly horses like this make riding, so enjoyable. His laid back attitude will put you at ease.
He’s had reining training, and has all the fun buttons, however he is very user friendly and easy to ride!! He carries himself beautifully on a big loose draped rein, or gather them up and ride him direct, with more contact. He is very comfortable to ride. A beautiful floating trot, slow jog, and his lovely slow smooth lope is amazing! He will collect or extend out if you ask. Knows his leads, nice slow spin, responsive stop and reverse. He is such a gorgeous mover, and will excel in the show ring! Whether you choose english or western dressage, ranch pleasure, versatility ranch horse, trail classes or the roping and cow horse route, Moonshine is so versatile, he’s going to wow everyone!!
He is what we consider more whoa than go, however he has forward movement if you call on him for it. Be sure to watch his video to see how well rounded he is!!
Moonshine loves to please his rider, and it shows big time. We’ve taken him overnight camping at Land Between The Lakes, and he was the perfect trail pony for my 8 year old son. He didn’t even care when his little rider got bored and resorted to mischief like pulling up sticks and tree limbs to carry around like a sword. He carried his gallant knight through battle for hours. Lol! He even got ridden all around in the lake and kept his cool wading through the deep mud. He’s a gem, and riding as a family- we sure appreciate honest and reliable geldings like Moonshine.
He’s perfect out on the roads with traffic, doesn’t mind any of our crazy farm animals, or loud equipment. He’s done some ranch work, pushing cows around, and is also started on the heel side.
To sum it up, Moonshine checks all the boxes, and we know you’ll love having him in your barn, and part of your family!! Solid tried and true geldings who take care of their riders like he does, are few and far between, if you’ve shopped around at all- you already know.
