Ruby is a varnish appaloosa Paso Fino Mare with a lot of get up and go. She is somewhat hot and is always ready to go. She will perform her gait while standing in place (dancing). Her preferred riding pace is fast. I ride her with a bitless bridle. My 69 year old friend loves to ride her as she is fun. She is about 13.1 hands (I have not measured). I am 180 pounds and she carries me with no problem.

This horse is not for a beginner as she will dance around until you let her go.... (read more) She is fine for a confident intermediate or experienced rider. She is a performance type horse. I have ridden her down a highway to a local ice house after she had been tired out. She still maintained her unique Paso gait. She would be too fast for trail riding with the draft or quarter horse, but fine with other gaited speedy horses.

She is an alpha mare and will kick at a horse walking behind her when she is tied, but has not kicked at a person. I have not had a horse be able to get close enough behind her when riding to she if she will kick. She is fast.

My body finally convinced my brain that I have to let my performance, zoomy horses go as I do not have the strength or the balance that I used to have due to age and multiple surgeries.
