Darla is a 12yr old Haflinger mare. She stands about 14.3HH and is stout with a thick build. Darla has been used as a trail horse most her life as well as a cart pony. She drives single and has been drove down streets. Darla has that gentle deamor that Haflinger are known for!... (read more) She doesn’t get startled by anything and is always excited to see her person. Darla goes down any trail, crowded streets and dark forests. For riding, she has a nice and easy rein, good stop and reverse and has a more athletic movement. She is a say to get into higher gaits, and has pretty circles and floats around beautifully. I could see her going into the English world with her movements! She has a slower steady pace but keeps up with the pack as well. She stands quietly for tacking up and bathing. She is the easiest horse to clip, brush and pick her feet up. She isn’t “marish” and can be stalled or turned out with other horses. Darla isn’t spooky, has no bolt, buck or bite and can be patient with new riders. She is easy to handle and safe as the day is long. She is familiar with all things nature and farm, like barking dogs, loud vehicles, and chaotic commotion. Darla is one you can count on to stay safe and gentle is any situation.
