“Winston” is a 14.2hh, 5yr old, quarter pony gelding, with the best personality, who is safe, patient, and kind!... (read more) Whinny is an old soul, and certainly knows how to take a joke. He is a sweet, lovable boy, who is safe with kids and is an awesome all-around guy!
In the barn, Winston has zero bad habits. He is quiet in his stall, and asks for nothing. He can live in, out, alone, and with others. He is a baby sitter type in the pasture and could care less if he is turned out alone. Whinny stands on the cross ties to be groomed, tacked, bathed, etc. He is gentle to work around and has great ground manners. He is safe with dogs running right under his feet, and kids being rowdy in the barn ally. He admires attention, and he is lovey, yet not pushy or looking for treats.
Winston is a trail machine!!! Absolutely anyone could ride him on the trails, he takes care of his rider. He is safe, safe, safe, and not the slightest bit spooky. He will lead, follow, go out alone and in groups. Winston is very brave and honest and will lead the group through water, over logs, up and down hills, through traffic and bikes, and doesn’t mind barking dogs. He trail rides on a loose rein, like an old trail boss. He has been trail ridden by beginners and children, and gives people a relaxing ride. He would make a great hunt mount, guest horse, or if your husband is short… a husband horse! Winston does take up leg, for reference the rider in the video is 5’7-5’8 with long legs. He is built pretty quarter horsie. Whinny loves to splash around in the water and he will be the first one to hit the river!
Not only is Winston a trusty trail partner, he will happily dabble in arena activities as well! Whinny rides western, english, and bareback. His gaits are smooth and beautiful as well!!! He looks like a little hunter pony! He is the perfect combo of whoa and go, he will ride as a push ride all day long, yet you don’t need a crop or spurs to get him moving. Winston will walk, trot, canter, learning his leads, and has been lightly started over fences. He is still green in the ring, but he is honest and does what he is asked! He will go around in all three gaits on the buckle and doesn’t get forward or strong. Whinny has been lightly started over fences, and has proven to be honest and very attractive!!! He will tote kids around in the ring, yet he is intelligent and fun enough for an advanced rider to enjoy. Winston is a very quick learner, and likes to please!
Winston is an easy keeper. No special requirements, no maintenance, and no vices. He is barefoot, with good hooves. Whinny is good for the vet and farrier as well. He loads and trailers like a dream, and you can tie him to the trailer to get ready for your ride. Here is a fun, patient, kind gelding with everything to offer. He is currently in a great place, to head any direction. Trails, lessons, kids pony, show pony, hunt mount, you name it, he will look good doing it all.
