17.2hh 7 year old TB/APHA (APHA registered) gelding

Moose, while green has all the try in the world and is extremely brave. He has been lightly started over fences, is cantering small jumps and putting together courses and has gone cross country schooling once, he lunged over everything first to gain confidence and then rode over ditches, banks, natural obstacles and threw what there was of water with no stop (except for a drink of water).... (read more) He has only been off property twice, his first time being a show where he placed first in the 18”-21” combined test, his second time today.

Moose will excel with a light handed and knowledgeable rider who is able to continue his education and bring him up the levels. He does not appreciate a heavy handed rider or feeling “trapped”. He is currently learning to stretch and engage and accept contact after being ridden by a heavy handed rider who bitted him up so he does need to continue his flatwork education.

Moose is wonderful to have in the barn, easy to catch, shoe and for the vet. He is sound and sane.

Until he finds a new zip code, he is being ridden by a friend of mine as my schedule doesn’t allow for me to keep him in work. He has come leaps and bounds with just consistent riding and will easily be ready for spring show season. Moose is more than happy hack out alone and isn’t bothered by not having company in the arena or out on XC or the gallop track.
