7 year old 15ish hands(need to measure) grade gelding.

Pros:
Houston has been with me and my lesson program for about a year now. He has taught kids and adults and even survived summer camps. Houston is an easy keeper and is comfortable being barefoot. Currently living outside full time in a mixed herd. He’s been a great walk/trot horse. Yes, he can canter but it’s uncomfortable to sit and he likes to canter like a pony.... (read more) If Houston had his say in this he would like to stay a walk/trot horse. Speed is not his thing.

Cons:
He has his quirks. He can be nippy (especially if given treats). He is dominant in any herd(not really a con but heads up if you already have a dominant one in the field). He is more of a homebody. When at shows he can get nervous and spooky. He does best if lunged or ridden by an adult/trainer before your kid gets on to get his “jitters” out(when at a show). 95% of the time he will walk right onto the trailer(if you show up with an 85 model two horse I’m not making any promises he will load). He has thrown a mini buck in the canter in the past. When my kids have cantered him he hasn’t. So I won’t say he’s never bucked.

Overall Houston can be a good boy. He needs someone that can tell him NO and not let him get away with his shenanigans. He has served his purpose with me and I really need something that can canter around the barrels for my kiddos. Located in Canton GA. Low fours. A good home is the most important.
